Taoyuan Aerotropolis is a key project to the national development. In this press conference, Taoyuan Aerotropolis Co., Ltd, National Chiao Tung University, and the American bio-tech start-up CytoLumina Technologies Corp. jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding. It is the very first time in Taiwan that with the joint effort from the government, the industry, and the academia, we shall push for the development of non-invasive liquid biopsy techniques, which will contribute much to the medical examination technology in Taiwan. In addition, on the regard of the promotion of the investment to Taoyuan Aerotropolis Project, it has potential benefits in bringing forth the emerging industries of next generation for Taiwan. The three parties shall jointly push for the development and talent exchange on the bio-tech industry in Taoyuan Aerotropolis in the future.
The industries the Industrial Zone of Aerotropolis will introduce include core and sub-core development industries, supportive industries and auxiliary facilities. Among which bio-technology industry (such as R&D experiment center and medical device R&D) is the key industry to introduce in the core development industry. National Chiao Tung University is a top university in Taiwan that has incubated many outstanding professionals and set a solid basis for researches. The American bio-tech start-up CytoLumina Technologies Corp. possesses many patents in cutting-edge arena of the non-invasive liquid biopsy techniques of tumor cells, such as the development of nanotechnology-enabled rare-cell capture and sorting platforms. The successful introduction of the team with key technology shall benefit significantly to the future bio-tech industry development in Aerotropolis, while improving the international competitiveness of emerging industries.
