Awarding to the International Trade Fair for event of “Ideas-Inventions-New Products” (iENA) at Nuremberg, Germany. Mayor Cheng: We encourage people to invent to intrigue revolution of lifestyle and technological advancements.
When hosting municipal administration conference on February 24th, Taoyuan City Mayor Cheng Wen-Tsan gave award to the awardees of the “2015 iENA at Nuremberg, Germany” which included Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology, and Z.J Design. Mayor Cheng expressed his wishes of using inventions to bring about revolution of lifestyles, advancements in industrial technology, and improved convenience for the general public.
Mayor Cheng mentioned that the iENA inventor’s award at Nuremberg, Germany, is a prestigious award in the industry that is coveted by many inventors. A total of 67 times of iENA awards have been held since founding. A total of 75 pieces of work from 40 Taiwanese organizations attended the event in 2015. Taiwan achieved remarkable performance with 12 golds, 26 silvers, and 18 bronzes. Especially, Z.J Design achieved a bronze reward while Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology also achieved remarkable performance by taking home medals of a silver and a bronze.
Mayor Cheng highlighted the stiff global competition faced by every country throughout the world, and hope that innovative inventions will bring about revolutionary changes to our lifestyles as well as technological advancement. Taoyuan is poised to become a key city of “Asia Silicon Valley.” Invention, design, marketing, and R&D must be carried out in earnest to promote competitiveness of various industries. It is hoped that awardee commendation events like these will encourage more creative minds to devote themselves to invent and create a more advanced Taiwan and Taoyuan.
Mayor Cheng described the “Ruyi Bottle Opener” designed by Z.J Design as a breakthrough that managed to improve upon the texture of traditional designs without changing its form. Its mechanical and physical principles also allowed easier use of the bottle opener while serving as a symbol of peace, health, and prosperity for every citizen in Taoyuan.
Mayor Cheng then mentioned the “3D Ice Printer” of Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology that won a bronze reward. 3D printing technology was incorporated with ice product manufacturing to create products of various forms using different programs. The “Protective net of Fans with Self-Cleaning Abilities”, which won the silver award, was made of stainless steel. This work was designed for fans that prevent from accumulating dust and becoming dirty over time. Only 2W of power would be required to achieve the cleaning effects.
